This is an important feature, with which recruiters can view samples of a potential hire’s work, and see what they are like professionally. Even the websites of the companies, a candidate has worked for or contributed toward can be added.

· Showcase Your Work

With TimesJobs Global Connect, a candidate can also embed their Slideshare presentations, relevant videos from YouTube, and documents from Google Docs. Using Twitter to crowd-source the world

What started as a small experiment 24 hours ago to use the lists function on Twitter to create county lists in Ireland has now snowballed into projects covering the UK and Ireland.

Simply Zesty, an online PR and social media agency based in Dublin, are using crowdsourcing to create county lists of Twitter users. The company have set a limit of 72 hours per country, to gather as many users as possible. The idea is to create lists by area that anyone can use and also to produce a map showing which areas are the most active on Twitter. The experiment started in Ireland on Tuesday morning and in under than 24 hours they had spread it to the UK and America, due to the high demand.

The project itself shows the power of social media and is an example of just how quickly news can spread. The UK and US experiments were featured on Techcrunch, which has contributed to the snowball effect.

The project works through crowd-sourcing as people have to send a tweet to be included. Word of mouth is key to the success. To take part is simple and for each country users just have to tweet the following (replacing the place name with their county/state) :

Ireland “I want to get listed #TwitterCork add yourself here http://bit.ly/2C70pP”

England “I want to get listed #TwitterEssex add yourself here http://bit.ly/44DRZ5”

America “I want to get listed #TwitterCalifornia add yourself here http://bit.ly/40ZL4M”

Lauren Fisher, cofounder of Simply Zesty says “This is a really exciting experiment and we just can’t believe how quickly it’s growing. We never thought that just 24 hours ago we would be doing this in the UK and America. It’s certainly putting the new Lists function in Twitter through the paces. We started off doing the Ireland list manually but have now got people working on scripts to help us out a bit! When Twitter lists first launched there was a mixed reaction and some people weren’t too sure if they were useful. We hope we’ve found a great use for them and I can’t wait to see which areas are the most active on Twitter.”

Niall Harbison, cofounder of Simply Zesty says “We wanted to create something inherently useful that people all over the world would use. Imagine moving to Devon from abroad and being able to add 500 local people instantly to your network. The possibilities for this are endless”

Tempworks Releases Twitter-Integrated Social Media Suite

TempWorks Software announces introduction of their web 2.0 social media suite that integrates the best of lead generation (/products/services/lead-generation-services.aspx), web analytics, CRM, Twitter (/), email marketing and content management systems. The suite has underscored success both for Tempworks own marketing and sales and that of key clients.

In 2007 Tempworks Software CEO Gregg Dourgarian saw rapid changes in how buyers were making decisions. Trade show booths and industry journal ads were becoming less effective each year. Telemarketing, cold-calling and direct mail were suffering the same fate.

“The writing was on the wall. Interruptive selling no longer worked,” says Dourgarian. “Prospects didn’t want to listen when sales wanted to talk. And sales didn’t know when prospects were ready to talk.”

Now instead of cold calling, the sales staff wakes up each morning with a stack of sales ready leads harvested off of the Social Media Suite.

In response, Tempworks deployed various web 2.0 lead generation techniques and quietly built its own suite of web 2.0 sales tools for its internal purposes. “The results were astounding,” says Dourgarian. “New business started coming, and now we have our implementation schedule booked out to the middle of next year. Because of our success, we’re using the same tools to drive recruitment.”

Too Good Not to Share with Clients.

The internal tools got so good at driving sales ready leads that the company decided in 2008 to make the system work for clients and re-architected them into an offering called the Social Media Software Suite. “We had to take this to our customers. It’s in our DNA.”

The Social Mediate Suite includes:

– Social CRM. Social CRM integrates social media into the core Tempworks end-user applications. Social CRM includes powerful Twitter, Facebook and email marketing features that make social media a first class citizen of Tempworks flagship Enterprise application.

– Web2Lead. Web2Lead allows sales people to monitor website visitors real-time and plan sales activities accordingly. Instead of spending their day making interruptive sales calls, sales professionals can identify sales ready prospects and provide instant, consultative support.

– Content Management System (CMS). CMS allows organizations to dynamically manage its website without ongoing IT involvement. Each practice area can have control over its own content. CMS integrates the best practices of web 2.0 tactics including search engine optimization, landing page templates, and CRM system integration.

– LandingPageMaster. LandingPageMaster gets visitors to raise their hands, identify themselves and to announce their needs. Combining elements of web design with carefully prepared pay-per-click and search engine optimization programs, LandingPageMaster drives buyers and candidates in large numbers to the appropriate web pages and makes their visits worthwhile, reducing bounce rates and maximizing conversions.

Already one Tempworks client, Dantemps has taken components of the package which helped it drive tremendous growth (/press-releases/dan-temps.aspx)during the last 12 months. According to Dantemps CEO Jarrod Daniel “We implemented Tempworks Software in October of 2006 [… As a result, Dan Temps’ new friends have been transformed into new employees and clients, allowing the company to grow and expand at a time when most competitors are struggling.”

Unlike the many individual web 2.0 lead generation packages out there, Tempworks integrates all the components into a seamless offering. “There are great tools out there like Google Analytics that allow you to do charts and other summary reporting on your web visitors,” says Dourgarian. “But they don’t identify who those visitors are, and don’t lead you with a single click from a web visit to a contact record like Tempworks.”

People think internet browsing is anonymous. Nothing can be further from the truth.

Once the company cracked the code of identifying web visitors, it was a snap to integrate it with the core Tempworks CRM/ERP package. Now email, Twitter and Facebook are first class citizens in the Tempworks end-user application.

Photographers Power Up Their Social Media Activity With iSyndica

iSyndica’s latest update gives stock photographers the ability to distribute their images with custom watermarks to popular social media sites such as Facebook and Flickr. The custom watermarks can be applied to portfolios automatically, saving users hours of processing and uploading duplicate images for public use. The service also lets photographers resize their images to guarantee that the images they publicly share can’t be reused for unauthorized commercial purposes.
The 2009 PDN Photo Plus Expo highlighted the growing interest among photographers in social media, with two panels addressing Twitter and social media. However many expressed concerns as to where and how to start. iSyndica helps answer that question by connecting users’ existing portfolio to the most popular services on the internet. Engaging in social media activity can now start with the click of a button, sending images with signature watermarks to Twitter or Picasa. iSyndica also supports videos with YouTube and blip.tv among other sites.
“iSyndica’s been a real time saver for me. I use it to submit my portfolio to nine (stock photography) agencies,” says user Jane Goodrich. “With just another click, it’s on Facebook and Flickr. I just love it. The addition of a custom watermark will really add the layer of personalization I had been waiting for.”

Art Bloggers Panelize at Art Miami 2009

Art Bloggers @, an organization founded by Sharon Butler and Joanne Mattera in 2007, is hosting a panel discussion at Art Miami on Saturday, December 5th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Entitled, “Beyond Basic Blogging: Carving Our Niche in the Blogosphere,” the panel will discuss developments in art blogging from the past year. Participating panelists include: Sharon Butler, Thomas Hollingworth, Paddy Johnson, Carolina A. Miranda, and Hrag Vartanian. Joanne Mattera will be the moderator. The event will be held in the Art Miami Pavilion on Midtown Boulevard ( NE 1st Avenue ) between NE 31st and NE 32nd Streets.

With conventional print media in decline, art blogging has filled an unexpected niche. Armed with free or low-cost web hosting and a raft of photographs and videos from tiny cameras (sometimes even cell phones), art bloggers are posting reviews, reports, interviews, opinions, advice, links, and Tweets. Bloggers are not The New York Times. And that’s precisely their power. In an art world chronically short on coverage, they are covering events – often from an artist’s perspective – with a democratic and regional take on who, what and where. The best of the art bloggers have carved out identities with defined points of view, good writing, and you-are-there pictures.

About the Panelists:
Sharon Butler, an artist and writer, maintains the art blog Two Coats of Paint, and writes for The Brooklyn Rail. In July 2009, she started @ Bushwick & Main , an online photographic sketchbook that features iPhone notations from her wandering art practice.

Thomas Hollingworth is a graduate of London Guildhall University who now lives and works in Miami . In addition to teaching and coordinating exhibitions on behalf of Miami Dade College he is the editor of Artlurker, a Miami based contemporary art blog that he founded in 2008. By documenting local, national and international cultural subjects and involving the local community for the local community Artlurker functions as both resource and a platform representative of the relative accessibility of Miami ‘s art scene.

Paddy Johnson is Art Fag City.

Joanne Mattera is a studio painter and occasional curator who maintains the Joanne Mattera Art Blog to record and share what she’s seeing in the New York galleries, at the art fairs, and in galleries and studios around the country. Though the blog’s description is “Guaranteed Biased, Myopic, Incomplete and Journalistically Suspect,” she is in fact journalistically responsible (though, OK, she’s biased toward painting and sculpture). She recently instituted Marketing Mondays, a weekly feature that helps emerging and midcareer artists navigate the art world.

Carolina A. Miranda is a freelance writer and editor based in New York City, where she contributes articles on travel and culture to a variety of national and regional media, including ArtNews, nytimes.com, Fast Company, Travel + Leisure and Time magazine. She is also a contributor to Lonely Planet guidebooks, having covered destinations such as Costa Rica , Mexico and Peru for the company. Last fall, she was named one of eight fellows in the USC Annenberg/Getty Arts Journalism Program for her cultural blog C-Monster.net, which, among other media, has received mentions in the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. She lives in New York City .

Hrag Vartanian is a New York-based writer and critic. His work has appeared in the Art21 blog, the Brooklyn Rail, the New York Foundation for the Arts Current, Huffington Post and Modern Painters. He writes a street art column named Re:Public, which will soon be part of his latest project, hyperallergic (subtitled “sensitive to art and its discontents”).

Twitter at The Office Helps with CRM User Adoption

Intelestream, Inc., the leader in open source CRM consulting, today announced the company is reaching out to its partners and contacts through twitter. The company, which has specialized in SugarCRM consulting since 2006, is widely regarded as an authority on the subject of Open Source CRM.

Intelestream believes Twitter can help people better understand applications like SugarCRM. User adoption, one of the most challenging aspects of implementing a new CRM system, is the main reason the company is encouraging CRM users to subscribe to relevant Twitter channels.

“A lot of people don’t fully understand CRM. Office workers don’t always know that their company’s new CRM system is really there to help them do their job. The reality too is that no one wants to read a giant user’s manual. Our goal is to educate people one tweet at a time, by providing CRM users with useful tips every day,” states CEO Jason Green. “By staying informed without being overwhelmed by information, users should feel more comfortable with CRM and use it more.”
