Dropbox has redesigned it’s desktop client with a new Dropbox menu.

“Life (in Dropbox) moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. And with all the stuff you’ve got goin’ on, we figured it’d be handy for you to keep track of all your exploits in one place: the Dropbox menu!”

“We’ve made it easier than ever to accept invitations to shared folders, see links or albums that people have shared with you, and keep tabs on what’s changed in your Dropbox.

If someone shares a link with you, you can now get to it immediately — directly from the Dropbox menu! You’ll get notifications in real time as people share with you, and can see them later just by clicking the Dropbox icon. You can also accept or decline invitations to shared folders directly from your desktop.”

Google has announced Google+ Sign-in. “Whether you’re building an app for Android, iOS or the web, users can now sign in to your app with Google, and bring along their Google+ info for an upgraded experience. It’s simple, it’s secure, and it prohibits social spam. And we’re just getting started”

1. Simplicity and security come first
If you sign in to Gmail, YouTube or any other Google service, you can now use your existing credentials to sign in to apps outside of Google. Just review the Google+ permissions screen (outlining the data you’re sharing with the app, and the people who can see your activity), and you’re all set. Google+ Sign-In also comes with the protections and safeguards you’ve come to expect from your Google account (like 2-step verification), so you can always sign in with confidence.

2. Desktop and mobile are better together

Pictures and videos are great for viewing, but sometimes you actually want to do stuff online. That’s why, when you share from an app that uses Google+ Sign-In, your friends will see a new kind of “interactive” post in their Google+ stream. Clicking will take them inside the app, where they can buy, listen to, or review (for instance) exactly what you shared.

The official BBC Sport app is the sports fan’s guide to live sport news, video highlights, scores stats, fixtures and results, curated by the BBC’s team of sport journalists and is now on Android

Google announce users can connect Drive-enabled Chrome apps. The Google Drive Create menu now elevates Drive-connected apps to the same level as Google apps such as Docs and Sheets. This makes your Drive-connected apps easier to reach and more visible to Google Drive users.

If your app is already Google Drive-enabled and listed in the Chrome Web Store’s Drive collection, you don’t have to do anything new to take advantage of these new features. We will automatically pull all the information from your existing Chrome Web Store listing.

Mitii Development of Denmark, provider of knowledge-based training for brain enhancement and recovery, has adopted Storage Made Easy’s SaaS hosted Cloud file unification solution for employee access to Cloud files.

Dropbox has updated it’s Android app to allow public photo album sharing.

“Choose your favorite photos and videos from family gatherings, show off the amazing soufflé you created with friends, or highlight your mad snowboarding skills with gorgeous albums that everyone can enjoy from their computers, tablets or phones – no Dropbox account required!

From the Photos tab, tap the button on the top right, and select the pictures you want to share. You can add them to a named album to save for later, or just grab the link to share via email, Facebook, or Twitter.”

Dropbox is a free service that lets you bring all your photos, docs, and videos anywhere. After you install Dropbox on your computer, any file you save to your Dropbox will automatically save to all your computers, your Android device, and even the Dropbox website

Google has launched a feature making it easy to send videos from your mobile to your TV with just one button.

“This year at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), we’re bringing that mobile/TV pairing feature to devices from our friends including Bang & Olufsen, LG, Panasonic and Sony. In 2013, you’ll see this feature come to even more devices like those from Philips, Samsung, Sharp, Toshiba, Vizio, Western Digital and others. “

Google have announced the Save to Google Drive Chrome extension, which helps you save web content to your Google Drive.

* Adds a browser action to save the current page.
* Adds a right-click context menu to save hyperlinks, documents and media.

This extension allow you to save web content directly to Google Drive through a browser action or context menu. You can save documents, images, and HTML5 audio and video all by right clicking and selecting ‘Save to Google Drive’. You can save the currently viewed page using the ‘Save to Google Drive’ browser action. The format of saved HTML pages can be controlled with the options page (Choice of Entire image (default), Visible image, Raw HTML, MHTML, or Google Doc). You can automatically convert Microsoft Office files or comma separated files to Google docs format.

After your content is saved, the progress dialog allows you to open the file, rename, or view the file in the Google Drive document list. From the document list, you can organize and share your new document.

To save a file:// URLs, or to enable in incognito mode, go to chrome://extensions/ and enable the associated checkbox.
