Google is killing off seven more products including Wave in an effort to simplify its range of services, reports Google in its official blog.

The products being dropped are:
Google Wave – an attempt to combine email and instant messaging for real-time collaboration

Google Bookmarks List – a service which allowed users to share bookmarks with friends

Google Friends Connect – allowed webmasters to add social features to their sites by embedding a snippet of code

Google Gears – much-hyped effort to maintain web browser functionality when working offline

Google Search Timeline – a graph of historical query results

Knol – a Wikipedia-style project, which aimed to improve web content

Renewable Energy Cheaper than Coal – a project which aimed to find ways to improve solar power

Botta design presents the world’s first dual one-hand-watch for two time zones

Our world may be becoming smaller, but one boundary still remains – time.

Before we contact someone in another time zone, we always find ourselves wondering what time it is there – is it early in the morning or late at night? Will my call be a disturbance, or will it come just in time?

The DUO 24 offers a simple solution to this problem: being a dual one-hand watch, it shows both the local time and the time at one additional time zone, using just one hand in each case.

This is the simple yet amazingly logical principle which the DUO 24 uses to give its wearer reassurance when dealing with different time zones.

The main display on the outside shows the local time. The striking 12-hour hand points to the specially developed one-hand scale familiar for more than 25 years from the UNO.

The second time zone is shown, somewhat less prominently, next to the local time. The 24-hour numerical ring and the delicate hand are situated on a lower display level and are clearly separated from the 12-hour display. An artificial horizon divides the dial into a day half and a night half – making sure that unwanted alarm calls are a thing of the past.

FXI technologies USB Stick Contains Dual-Core Computer Turns Any Screen Into an Android Station, reports Laptopmag

Is that a USB key in your pocket or a dual-core computer? Today, Norwegian company FXI technologies showed off a USB stick-sized portable computer prototype, complete with a dual-core 1.2-GHz Samsung Exynos ARM CPU (same as in the Galaxy S II), 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI-out and a microSD card slot for memory. Codenamed Cotton Candy because its 21 gram weight is the same as a bag of the confection, the tiny PC enables what its inventor calls “Any Screen Computing,” the ability to turn any TV, laptop, phone, tablet, or set-top box into a dumb terminal for its Android operating system.

The Cotton Candy has a USB 2.0 connector on one end and an HDMI jack on the other. When connected to an HDTV, it uses the HDMI port for video, the USB for power, and Bluetooth to connect to a keyboard, mouse, or tablet for controlling the operating system. The device can output up to 1080p so even a full HD screen can display the Candy’s preloaded Android 2.3 operating system at its native resolution. The dual core CPU is powerful enough to play local 1080p video or stream HD clips from the Web.

PayPal Launches Send Money Facebook App

PayPal has announced Send Money a Facebook app designed to let users of the social networking site send money to each other.

Send Money, features a greeting card component for accompanying the money transfer with an e-card containing a message, photos and videos to mark occasions like birthdays and anniversaries.

“In a world that’s turning increasingly to social media, we are giving our customers the flexibility to send their money to whoever they want, whenever they want and for whatever ‘occasion’ they want,” wrote JB Coutinho, a senior product marketing manager at PayPal, in a blog post

To use the app visit PayPal’s send money app page on Facebook. You select a card for your occasion and choose a recipient. Simply log-in to your PayPal account within the app, choose the dollar amount and click send. The card is immediately posted to the recipient’s wall though the message of the card is kept private.

Adobe Touch Apps Available in Android Market – Six New Tablet Apps Enable Creativity Anywhere, Anytime

Adobe Systems Incorporated announced the availability of the Adobe® Touch Apps in the Android Market. Adobe Touch Apps are a family of six intuitive touch screen applications, inspired by Adobe Creative Suite® software, to bring professional-level creativity to millions of tablet users. Designed to work with both finger and stylus input, the apps address multiple areas of the creative process: Adobe Photoshop® Touch for image editing; Adobe Collage for moodboards; Adobe Debut for presenting and reviewing creative work; Adobe Ideas for sketching; Adobe Kuler® for exploring color themes; and Adobe Proto for website and mobile app prototyping. Syncdocs Google Drive App Released

Syncdocs is a new hybrid application that turns Google Docs into a free online storage drive. This drive is accessible from any PC or mobile.

Moving to cloud computing used to mean abandoning the desktop, but with Syncdocs, it is now possible to get the best of both cloud and desktop worlds.

Google recently announced that Google Documents can store any type of file, up to 10GB in size. Syncdocs takes full advantage of this fast, reliable Google storage – it keeps PC folders synchronized with Google Docs and with other users.

Google Docs is used simply as the G-Drive. Folders across multiple PCs and mobile devices just stay in sync automatically. Anything saved to these folders is automatically mirrored online and across all linked PCs. Syncdocs can also integrate with other cloud storage providers, like Dropbox to sync Dropbox to Google Docs.

In addition to providing sync and online backup, Google Docs are available right from the user’s Windows desktop. This means that Microsoft Office is no longer necessary to open or create Word or Excel files on the PC.

“Syncdocs gives you the freedom to access your data where you want, in the you want it,” said Donald Recsei, Syncdocs’ product manager. “For example, with Syncdocs and Google Docs, it’s really easy to collaborate between desktop Office users, and sales staff in the field on iPhones.”

With Dropbox – in addition to existing Logitech Alert on-camera video storage and PC video backup – you now have an additional storage option that gives you even more piece of mind. Whether at home or on the road, Dropbox’s automatic backup and password protection helps ensure that the Logitech Alert HD videos backed up to your PC are automatically and safely uploaded to the cloud. Dropbox uses the same security methods as banks for data transfer and storage – adding that additional layer of data protection – so you can be confident saved videos will remain protected and private.

Starting today, Logitech Alert users can access a bevy of Dropbox storage packages – ranging from an initial free service for up to 2 GBs, to an upgraded 50 GB service for $9.99 per month and 100 GBs for $19.99 per month. Once you sign up for an account and download Dropbox, simply configure your storage settings within Logitech Alert Commander and the Dropbox software. As long as both Dropbox and Logitech Alert Commander are running, Logitech Alert footage will automatically sync with your Dropbox account transferring and storing security video files.
