Oodle Appoints New UK Operation Head
September 16th, 2006Oodle launched its UK service, www.oodle.co.uk, in May of this year and is the only search engine to let users search and find great local deals across all the major classifieds sectors — property, jobs, motors and merchandise.
Duncan Dunlop will be responsible for leading Oodle’s partnership activities in the UK. He joins Oodle with over 10 years’ experience in new media following senior positions at Thomas Cook, Yell, Yahoo! and Lycos. Most recently, he was head of new product development at Associated New Media, the online arm of the Daily Mail and General Trust Group, where he helped develop new online classifieds sites.
“Since launching in May, we’ve had tremendous interest in partnering,” said Craig Donato, Oodle’s CEO and co-founder. “With Duncan spearheading our UK business development efforts we will now have the necessary local resources to build on this momentum and better serve our existing partners. Duncan has both extensive expertise in online classifieds as well as a broad skill set in business development, sales and product strategy.”
Oodle currently has partnerships with several major US media sites, as well as with The Sun Newspaper in the UK (http://thesun.uk.oodle.co.uk/) with several others planned for the UK in the near future.
